FINALLYYYYYY....

SOME PROGRESS!!!!

I had know idea what I was in for taking this project on
Thank god I love redoing furniture
or
By now I would have gauged my eyes out with the scrapper

I know that sounds harsh but if you have ever stripped furniture
your biggest nightmare is
seeing a dozen coats of paint!! No kidding!!!

Makes a totally happy girl
frown and possibly say cuss words (lots of them)

Here is what I started with....

SOOO I started with a good pair of gloves
And two cans of stripper
a scrapper and metal brushes for the detail...

Had to do this Three times and ended up purchasing
4 more cans of stripper

Ended up with this
Yeahhh I am like are you kidding me.....

Did this two more times on EVERYTHING...

AND FINALLY READY FOR A LIGHT OVER SANDING AND THEN
PAINT....WOOO HOOOO

FINALLYYYYYYY

Thank you sweet baby jesus
I felt like this was the never ending
dresser....
ANDDDDD
I AM SOOOO SUPER EXCITED
TO GET IT COMPLETED
BUTTTT HAVEN'T DECIDED
NOW WHAT COLOR TO PAINT IT?!?!

REALLYYYYYY.... WHO DOES THIS....

Paints a piece of furniture with 5 thousand coats of paint?!?!?! ANDDDD paints the hardware too
OK....OK so its only like 5 or 6 coats and way way more work that initially thought
BUTTTT
I will say this piece is going to be
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
when its done
WHICH WILL TAKE A WHILE
ALONG WITH A COUPLE MORE CANS OF
PAINT STRIPPER AND TONS OF HARD WORK AND
EVEN MORE PATIENCE.....
But fortunate when I get a piece I get so darn excited to see the
finished piece I work my tail off to get it done....
I HAVE A FEELING THIS WILL BE ONE OF MY
FAVORITE PIECES!!!!
(And not just because I am working my tail off to remove all prior paint....well that may have just a lil to do with it )

Soooo in my head my plan was to paint this piece black but the I got a wild hair to take a look online for some ideas....

Here is what I am working with

HERE ARE SOME "IDEAS" I FOUND....

PROGRESS
of said piece......

I was able to salvage the hardware
by boiling the hardware all afternoon and using a steel brush to clean it
Unfortunately there was a piece of hardware missing :(...
No fear I will be using most on this piece to keep it as close to original as possible!!!

Sooo I sprayed the stripper on
anddd

I will need to do this several more times (Boooo)
BUTTTT trust in me once its done......
I can already tell it will be one of my favorite pieces!!!

Be sure to check it out
when I actually get it completed

HERE IS THE BEFORE

ANOTHER DILEMMA.....
AS I AM REMOVING THE OLD PAINT THE COLOR OF THE WOOD IS
BEAUTIFUL
UGGGGGGG.....WHAT TO DO?!?!?
