AFTER

Before

Keep in mind when painting dark colors to prime it and
since the desk top was a laminate I used gripper primer so
it would hold the paint intact. Its alot of work and a little extra money but well worth it in the long run!!!

Love the way this desk turned out :)

Fabulous Jewelry Shelf....

Jewelry Shelf
I have it sitting on my dresser to display but
hardware can be added to hang on the wall
and guess what its made out of....
a reclaimed pallet
Soooo Cute.....
This is what I started with
an adorable mini pallet
(and yes i do think mini pallets are adorable..lol)

Pieces to end tables that I up cycled
I took apart one side of the door from what was on a previous end table and
painted them white....and was trying to discover a creative way to attach the
to the pallet.....success (so cute)
and also sanded areas and applied stain the give the pieces a vintage look
Painted the pallet white leaving some of the raw wood showing
(for the record that Jack Daniels box in the background was not emptied by me
...I'm still working on it...I KID...I KID...I guess if my mind wasn't
going a million miles an hour with all the projects I am working on and want to try I would need an entire box of Jack...Really I am kidding a rob your neighbor gift was wrapped in it at my families Christmas Party...BUTTTT there was delight in my eyes when I unwrapped it...only to find when I opened it Tupperware...REALLY :( )
Then I went over the painted piece with stain to give it the vintage worn look
paying good attention to the raw wood

I added the pieces from the previous doors, lots of hooks, a couple of drawer pulls and an adorable line of scrapbook paper to
the piece....

Before Pics
As soon as I laid eyes on this dresser I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with it :)
And couldnt wait...started the same day I bought it tossing all other projects aside...
I sanded the entire dresser

I drew templates on the drawers
I was pretty gung hooo until I had the jigsaw in my had and kept thinking...OMG what if i mess it up....EKKKKK....
I even took the sander to it and started to sand off the template I had just taken the time to make on each of the drawers..... then I thought you will never know if you don't try and of course wondering what the heck I was thinking I never hesitated
I THOUGHT.....BRING IT :)

SOOOO glad I did....LOVE IT!!!!
Made my cuts on the drawers and sanded them down
(not each cut was perfect but the sander took care
of that so.....don't hesitate to try this)

Stood back and thought YAYYYYY
Painted the entire dresser  grey

Made stencil for the numbers on the dresser using my cricut diecut machine and added the numbers

Then I went over the dresser in spots and sanded to make the piece look worn and vintage....rubbed the entire dresser down with stain and paying good attention to the sanded spots especially where the wood was showing.....

TAAA DAAAAA

PFFFFFF....what was I so worried about...silly me

:(

I flippin hate winter and everything about it.....I hope that concrete pole liked the kiss from the fun bus :( I will not forget the look in my sons eyes when we realized there was nothing I could do and we were on ice....for the record little car I didn't rear end.... Your welcome!!!!

Start Something that matters....

So I called my son to wish him a happy 19th birthday yesterday and he said Mom you know that book you got me for Christmas Start Something that Matters...and I of course said yes....he said well I am going to do something that matters.....I am going to start my own non profit organization making T Shirts with my own designs....and for everyone one sell I am donating one......
I AM SO PROUD....
I gave him lots of tips, advice and encouragement....He can't wait to help others and that is always how he has been...(when he was young he worked on his grandmas farm an entire summer and saved all his money in a jar and donated it to the needy. Why because ine of the kids in his class coulndt afford socks to wear and it made him horribly sad)
Need to check into some organizations for him to donate to if anyone has any suggestions please...please...please let me know . How exciting...knowing him he will be hugely successful.
His motivation and determination are amazing....
SO HIS JOURNEY BEGINS

New business name:

VIBES

he sent me a pic of his first design (which was awesome) and has already bought a screen printer and supplies...

SOOOO PROUD

and I sooo can not wait to read this book!!!

AND THANKS FOR INSPIRING ME SON!!!!
ACCELERATED COLLEGE COURSES AND A COMPANY....WOW....If anyone can do it I know that you can!!
JUST WHEN I THINK I AM THE LUCKIEST MOM IN THE WORLD THEY GO AND DO SOMETHING TO REMIND ME THAT YE I AM THE LUCKIEST MOM IN THE WORLD...YAYYYY
YOUR AMAZING THOMAS!!!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY :)

What matters most to you? Should you focus on earning a living, pursuing your passions, or devoting yourself to the causes that inspire you? The surprising truth is that you don’t have to choose—and that you’ll find more success if you don’t. That’s the breakthrough message of TOMS’ One for One movement. You don’t have to be rich to give back and you don’t have to retire to spend every day doing what you love. You can find profit, passion, and meaning all at once—right now.

In Start Something That Matters, Blake Mycoskie tells the story of TOMS, one of the fastest-growing shoe companies in the world, and combines it with lessons learned from such other innovative organizations as method, charity: water, FEED Projects, and TerraCycle. Blake presents the six simple keys for creating or transforming your own life and business, from discovering your core story to being resourceful without resources; from overcoming fear and doubt to incorporating giving into every aspect of your life. No matter what kind of change you’re considering, Start Something That Matters gives you the stories, ideas, and practical tips that can help you get started.

Why this book is for you:

• You’re ready to make a difference in the world—through your own start-up business, a nonprofit organization, or a new project that you create within your current job.
• You want to love your work, work for what you love, and have a positive impact on the world—all at the same time.
• You’re inspired by charity: water, method, and FEED Projects and want to learn how these organizations got their start.
• You’re curious about how someone who never made a pair of shoes, attended fashion school, or worked in retail created one of the fastest-growing footwear companies in the world by giving shoes away.
• You’re looking for a new model of success to share with your children, students, co-workers, and members of your community.

You’re ready to start something that matters.

It's better.....
