Castle Bed...

So if you follow
Sweet Sweet Simplicity
on
face book
you would know that I am making a castle bed
(and see all the progress pics)
for
Princess Brooke

Ehhhhhh probably
(it is...let's see how much hair I have left in this head of mine when I'm done ;-) i kid I kid)
the biggest project I have taken on
BUTTTTTTT
Pshhhhh I got this

Here is the basic look we were going for....kind of but not really....haahaahaaha
(I used the Ana White Castle bed plans to get the basic purchase list
...and to get me started
http://ana-white.com/2011/10/plans/castle-loft-bed....
Just an FYI this bed will look nothing like Ana White's)

Lots of changes AND additions are being made as we go along
and some before I even started....Adding stairs and a slide

I am friends with the lady that I am making this for and have
ehhhh pretty much the same taste as her
(She has many...manyyyyy of the pieces I have made in her absolutely gorgeous home)
So we are working together to make the changes

One change we have decided is to change the entry....
Stay tuned for that change this weekend

here are a couple of pics of the progress so far

Making the templates for the decorative tops on the castle

Vintage Stereo Cabinet re purposed into a wine cabinet...

Vintage Stereo Cabinet transformed into a wine cabinet
I received a face book message from Kris on Sweet Sweet Simplicity saying she had seen the vintage cabinet that I had made into a wine cabinet for her sister and that she had a vintage stereo that would never work again and she asked if I would be interested in making it into a wine cabinet as well for her

UMMMMM HECK YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!

Here are pictures of her sisters cabinet that I made into a wine cabinet

Thelma wanted the outside to remain the same but when you open the doors
BOOM BABYYYYYY

LOVED THIS TRANSFORMATION......

BEFORE

AFTER....and for the record...I LOVE IT!!!!!

NOW BACK TO KRIS'S

We wanted to make it easy access and instead of using wheels I am using a lazy susan (this baby holds up to 1000 lbs...we should be good...lol)
That way she can just turn it
The radio and speaker have been removed and I am ready to go full speed ahead

CAN"T WAIT TO GET THIS BEAUTY FINISHED

 BEFORE PICTURES
WHEN DROPPED OFF

CLEANED UP....
Only to be filled, repaired as best could and sanded and made paint ready
(The stereo would never work again removed as well as speaker)

 Sanded and paint ready
( we painted it because it was to badly damaged to restain
however that would of been gorgeous)

PAINTED AND READY FOR HER TRANSFORMATION

Kris's home has reclaimed barn wood throughout
so we chose to add reclaimed barn wood where the speaker
had been and to add barn wood to the top back where win glass holders were to
be added to hide the the part that couldn't be remove because we wanted it retain the
look of an old time stereo

UMMMM FOR THE RECORD I AM IN TOTAL LOVE WITH THIS PIECE

All that is left to do is to finish up this cool wine shelf
and add the spinner to the bottom

AND SHE'S DONE.....
LOVE LOVE LOVE
HOW THIS BEAUTY TURNED OUT
From a vintage stereo that would never work again with a lot of wood damage to
THIS
VINTAGE RADIO
Give her a spin and
boom baby....
GORGEOUS WINE CABINET

I know I alwayssss say it butttttt
this is my favorite re purpose yet!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!
